AkiraKan Limited is seeking an exceptional Research Scientist with expertise in Generative AI to join our research team. You'll conduct research in the field of Generative AI and apply it to various visual computing applications such as image, video, 3D, and point cloud generation. You'll work with a team of top-tier researchers and develop research prototypes, scaling them with large datasets and compute. We're working on some of the most interesting scientific challenges in designing an efficient and reliable transportation system.
As a Research Scientist, you'll be able to tackle open problems, publish your research, and test your ideas in the real world. You'll also work closely with other teams at AkiraKan Limited to productionize and ship our most successful algorithms and models towards city-scale mobility.
What you will be doing:
Conduct original research in Generative AI and apply it to various visual computing applications.
Build research prototypes and scale them with large datasets and compute.
Collaborating with other researchers and engineers across the ML team and our university partners.
Presenting results in verbal and written communications, internally and at top international venues, and via open-source contributions to the community.
Leading collaborations with our external research partners and mentoring research interns.
Publishing your original research and speaking at conferences and events.
Work with machine learning teams to harden models for deployment.

Requirements:
- Graduates in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Vision, or related fields or equivalent experience.
- Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- Strong coding skills in Python or C++.
- Strong knowledge of common deep-learning frameworks(Tensorflow/PyTorch).
- Experience in processing or curating large-scale datasets.
- Excellent knowledge of theory and practice of deep learning, computer vision, natural language processing, or computer graphics.
- Ability to identify, propose, and lead new research projects, working in collaboration with other researchers and engineers from initial idea to working solution.
- Passionate about large-scale challenges in AI, especially in the space of Computer Vision, Robotics, and for societal good in general.
- (bonus) Comfortable working in a HPC cluster environment (e.g. Slurm, Docker, Object Store).
